| WHO IS WALT FRASIER? Good question! Singer, Actor, Comic, Director, Producer... PERFORMER SAG, AFTRA, AEA, AGVA While very proud of appearances on CBS's "LATE NITE with DAVID LETTERMAN", MTV2's "STANKERVISION", WE's "HAIR TRAUMA", and NICK's "NAKED BROTHERS BAND", Walt Frasier is most known for his work performing, directing and teaching Improvisation. As co-founder of the troupe EIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH, Walter has performed (Improv, MC, piano) over 3000 shows since 2002 including the Off-Broadway run LMAO (Laugh My Ankles Off), IMPROV 4 KIDS and ABSENT MINDED COMEDY. Additional credits include NYC, regional, and touring theater, opera, concert soloist (tenor) and church singer/cantor. Favorite roles include Rodolfo (La Boheme), Tamino (Magic Flute), Harold Hill (Music Man), Karl Franz (Student Prince), Molokov (Chess), Jack (Where's Charlie), Frederic (Pirates of Penzance) and Henry VIII (Man for All Seasons). TEACHER Currently, Mr. Frasier serves as the Director of Instruction for the Comedy Hall of Fame Foundation's, LAUGH IT OUT program. Since 2008 the foundation has developed accredited comedy classes to NYC high schools. Starting in 2010, Walter began training new teachers, from the ranks of EIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH, for the ever growing program. Classes use techniques on Improvisation to teach communication (listening, eye contact, public speaking, projection etc), creative thinking and writing, team work and leadership. Level two courses will involve developing original sketch and stand-up writing and performance. Walter also coaches performers in acting and singing. In the past, Walter directed educational theater productions in NYC and DC area (Pirates of Penzance, Fiddler on the Roof, Much Ado About Nothing etc). EDUCATION Walt Frasier grew up in Gaithersburg MD. From the age of 4, Walter has played piano, trumpet, other instruments and sang. After serving as Senior Class of 1990 President, Walter began to major in music at Montgomery College - Rockville as a performance major (Trumpet, jazz piano minor). Within a year, Walter switched to musical theater and opera working with a number of DC talents (Dr. Gerry Muller, Roberta Gasbarre, Roger Riggle, Ed Sandler, Bill Graham etc). Discovering an early desire to produce, he served as MC - R Music C'ub president. Walter was offered tuition to study Opera at Catholic UA, but decided to study privately with a Master Opera teacher in NYC (Denes Striney) while singing in festivals and workshop programs in DC, NYC and Italy. Around 2000, Walter turned his sight back toward Broadway taking classes at HB Studios, Broadway Dance Center etc. |
